Dr. Bhushan H Pandya, MD

Dr. Bhushan H. Pandya is a Board-certified Gastroenterologist with a long-standing commitment to patient care. In 1985, he established a Gastroenterology practice in Danville and founded the Danville Gastroenterology Center in 1990. He has dedicated his career to serving patients both in his practice and as a member of the medical staff at Memorial Hospital (now SOVAH, Danville, following its renaming).

A graduate of the Claude Moore Institute of Physician Leadership, Dr. Pandya has held several key leadership roles. He chaired the Board of Gateway Health Alliance for over a decade and served as President of the Medical Staff at Danville Regional Medical Center. Additionally, he has been President of both the Danville Pittsylvania Academy of Medicine and the Medical Society of Virginia. Dr. Pandya was appointed to the Virginia State Board of Health by Governors Mark Warner and Timothy Kaine.

On the national stage, Dr. Pandya served as Chair of the IMG Governing Council at the American Medical Association (AMA) and currently represents Virginia as an AMA delegate. He is also a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Task Force on Professionalism and serves on the ABMS Stakeholder Council.

Dr. Pandya is deeply committed to community service, organizing health fairs and endoscopy camps in Danville and internationally to increase healthcare access. He is also an active member of the Riverview Rotary Club.

Throughout his career, Dr. Pandya has remained steadfast in his mission to make a positive impact on the lives of his patients, his community, and his profession.
